A few months back we were visited by Chef Miquel Calent and his team from the popular local cookery programme Fred I Calent which airs every Wednesday on local TV channel IB3.
They came to visit our bakery and to find out more about how we make our pitta. It was so much fun to have them and we loved being able to tell them about our company and how we produce freshly baked pita bread in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Fred I Calent is a very popular cookery programme presented by a well-known Mallorcan Chef – it not only features recipe demonstrations by professionals and home cooks, but also includes a lot of information about nutrition and culinary traditions. Miquel Calent is the Chef at Can Calent Restaurant in Campos and Cuit Restaurant in Palma.
Miquel interviewed our founder, Naor Topaz and his team filmed the step by step process of preparing our dough and baking our pita bread. They discussed what makes pitta bread different to other kinds of bread and some of the interesting trivia involved in the baking process – without revealing too many of our secrets of course!
We were very excited to see the final segment on the programme and we absolutely loved it. It is now available to view online on the IB3 website. As an added bonus Miquel prepared a delicious meal featuring our pita bread; roast leg of lamb with marinated cabbage, yoghurt sauce and a prune confit.
